New Experiences!!!

Kiana learned how to play this week! She has learned how to reach for and grab onto her toys. Her favorite so far is her little dolly! She was actually given two of these, which is great because one can stay upstairs in her room while the other is downstairs with her other toys. She likes to grab her by the pigtails, hopefully this doesn't turn into pulling hair later! I also think she likes her because she is soft and she can put her in her mouth without whacking herself in the face. She's done this a couple times with her rattles. Oops!

Daddy also gave Kiana her first bottle the other night! Grant and I wanted to go out to the movies on Saturday night to see the premier of The Crazies! This is the movie that was filmed in Lenox, IA, Grant's mom's hometown. Since we were going to be gone we needed to make sure she would take a bottle fine so grandpa Frank could babysit her. She only fussed for about 10 seconds before she realized what to do. After that she took to it just fine. This would be the first time that I have been away from her for more then just a couple hours, I definitely had mixed feelings about it! I missed being with her, but also enjoyed being able to go out on an adult only night!
Here's Kiana just enjoying and talking to her ladybug mobile!

Bumbo Baby!

I was doing laundry this weekend and I thought I would try out Kiana's Bumbo chair now that she is able to hold her own head better. I think she enjoyed being able to sit and watch mom like a big girl!

Just a few photos we took yesterday.

Happy Valentines Day!

We just wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Valentines Day! Kiana got dressed up for the occasion.

Oh no, America's Next Top Model here we come!

We went on a walk today up Skyline Drive, which is a road that goes up to the highest point of the city, that has drop offs on both sides. Grant ran up while Kiana and I want up in her carrier. We made it up about halfway before Grant met us again on his way down. We had to get all bundled up to stay warm. Below are some pictures taken today.

All Smiles!!

The last couple weeks Kiana and I have started a new habit. Ever since she started smiling and talking more we've noticed that she is the happiest and most talkative in the mornings. So after she has her breakfast we have started laying back in bed for a few minutes and have our morning conversation and smiling session. I have brought the camera upstairs the last few mornings so I can get some pictures of her in her best mood! Hopefully this continues more throughout the day soon!

The Infamous Little Red Chair!

For those of you that don't know about the little red chair, this was a gift that Grandpa Frank bought for her way back before we knew she was even a she! He saw it in the window of a furniture store downtown, although when he went back to buy it, it had just been sold so it needed to be ordered. Well after more then 6 months and still no chair, and after being told repeatedly it should be in soon, the owner of the store finally said it had been discontinued and she couldn't order it anymore. Keep in mind it had been paid for this whole time. Apparently she wanted to order more then one at a time to save on shipping, but waited too long. So we thought that was nice of her to just take his money and do nothing with it! So no chair and Grandpa Frank was so disappointed! Well the other day Grant and I were driving downtown, and guess what we saw in the window, a little kids red rocking chair! So we took a picture of it and showed Grandpa Frank just to see his reaction. We were thinking the lady lied again and finally got around to ordering the red chair. So the next day when I came downstairs to our surprise, but not really, there was the little red rocking chair in our living room. I guess the store sells on consignment, and apparently someone had returned it after their kid grew out of it. I think it may end up in her nursery, since it will go perfect with all the ladybugs!

Two Months Old!!!!!

Kiana turned two months old today, we can't believe how time is flying!!!! Her main milestones this month are that she started smiling back at us for real and started cooing. We have found out that she is definitely a morning person, since she is the most smiley and talkative first thing in the morning. We tried to take these early in the day when she's in the best mood, but it must not have been early enough since it took about 20 minutes of dad dancing around her to get her to smile in the picture below. This morning Kiana weighed 11 pounds exactly and is 21.75 inches long. That means she's in the 35th percentile for weight and 17th percentile for length. She's growing strong, but will probably be short like her mom.
